Teen (18+) straight content is not just about a pretty face, beautiful skin, and bright eyes. It is also about the intangibles that you can’t see. The inherent qualities of youth, that dreamy optimism, that effortless zest for adventure. The lack of life experience creates a curiosity to learn and explore that can be very charismatic. While it’s true you can be young at heart at any age, the enthusiasm and passion of true youth is difficult to deny.

 

The Beauty of Youth

Teen (18+) fantasy has been a staple of the porn industry since the beginning. Natural beauty, innocence, and “first times” are easy things to market on a store shelf and this still holds true in the internet age. Youth is universally appreciated, even if it isn’t what turns the audience on the most.

Advertising, movies, and popular culture frequently portray youth as the epitome of beauty and desirability, reinforcing societal standards. Young adults often set the trends in fashion, music, and lifestyle, leading to a cultural bias towards youthful aesthetics and behaviors. This trendsetting role of youth contributes to its desirability.

 

The Numbers Don’t Lie, But They Don’t Tell the Whole Story

As we looked back through our data, we realized the sheer dominance of Teen (18+) content between 2009 and 2016. Teen (18+) titles were incredibly popular back then and through that magical hindsight lens we began to piece together why and given the recent history it may not come as a shock. Many of the titles had taboo themes. Not all but enough to have us asking the question how was Taboo ranking compared to Teen (18+) content during those years? Taboo wasn’t ranking at all till late 2014 because we did not create a category to exclusively index that content on our theater system until December of 2014. As we notice gaps in categorization, consumers search, and changes in industry standards, we make improvements to how things are indexed. Some of the movies that were popular “Teen (18+)” movies back in the day now include “Taboo” as a category because it has been retroactively labeled. Based on the charts we made a concerted effort to re-categorize older content into new categories where it makes sense. Clearly the content producers had been creating it for a while, we just didn’t have a name for it. Not all “stepsister” content is Teen (18+) but probably is Taboo.

 

More Than a Flash in the Pan

Teen (18+) is still frequently a top 10 category and holds an allure with a large audience. If you find yourself adoring a modern star there is a good chance you will see them stay in the industry for a long time and have much more to look forward to from them. Older / Younger age play seems to favor the older in recent years and they may be in part to the longevity of stars in this modern era. With so much content to choose from and so many pretty faces we are excited to see today’s starlets evolve into tomorrow’s Wife, MILF, and Mature creators. Once a beauty, always a beauty.
